Thean Hou Temple reviews
42The temple is big and nice. There are souvenir shops and places to eat too. Only the location is a bit on the edge, where public transportation is difficult. It's easier to use a car ride.
Temple which is located on top of a hill, it is isolated and has nothing else around it. The temple itself is beautiful and well-kept. There is also the possibility of being able to eat something on the ground floor and above all to sit in the cool. The temple is not very large, everything is concentrated in a central atrium which contains statues representing deities. It is not only a tourist destination but also a destination for locals who go there to pray. The only flaw was that it was a bit far from the center and I could only get there by taxi
Must visit for someone who wants to explore the diverse culture in Malaysia. This one truly demonstrates the Chinese culture and a great place to spend some peaceful time.
This place is very beautiful and has enough room to take pictures, it looks like you are traveling in China. It is said that Thien Hau Palace is very sacred and sincere to pray. This place holds weddings for couples and is also a place to register marriages. The back garden is where wedding receptions are held. Inside there is a canteen and a flower palanquin set up for you to create many creative photos
This place worships Lady Thien Hau as is the belief of Chinese people in Southeast Asia as well as Taiwan. The architecture is beautiful and majestic, on the 5th floor there is no elevator for the elderly. The view of the city is quite beautiful. The garden area has statues of Bodhisattva, Mr. To and the 12 zodiac animals with many beautiful photo angles
What an amazing experience where you can be at peace with yourself. The lanterns just give this place a different glow during night and it was raining quite heavily when I went there which made it look even better in my opinion. Definitely a must visit if you are visiting KL
Magnificent temple. Definitely worth the detour. Downstairs there is a cafeteria and 3 shops
Very strict SOP. Many areas are off limits at the moment but you can still go to the temple for prayer.
Ono of the tourist attraction in kuala Lumpur. Its a must see when you visit here. Its a Chinese and Buddhist temple. Very peaceful calm and quite when you enter the temple. Suitable place for meditation. Build like ancient Chinese temple.its really beautiful when you see from outside
Very impressive and well-organised Chinese temple with significant service to the faithful. Huge grounds. Accessible with bus loads of tourists visiting thru'out the day, especially on weekends and major festive religious days.
Second time here, still look as magnificent. Place is peaceful with very few people (probably due to the wet weather and no major events/celebrations).
Place to If you looking for malaysia Chinese culture, it is ideal to visit. It is on the top hill so you can over view the part of Kuala Lumpur
I returned to this temple after a period of almost 10 years.normally you would expect these places to deteriorate and start showing signs of aging but not only has this improved but is as impeccable as it was 10 years ago. There have been some significant new parts added to the back of the temple alongwith a cultural activities centre. The famous turtle pond is under renovation at the time of writing this review.although just by looking at the skeletal of what's being worked upon the end result should be beautiful. As a tourist destination this is a visual treat and provides a good short calming break in hectic tourist place hopping that we do. It's within the city limits and beautifully quiet. Last but not the least this also has a souvenir shop that offers some good taking for both the religious and the casual tourist. The KL magnets are definitely cheaper here than most places in the city.
Thean Hou Temple’s structural design represents a successful combination of contemporary architectural style and traditional designs with intricate embellishments and ornate carvings and murals. The front entrance has a multi-arched gateway with red pillars, to symbolize prosperity and good fortune. Also, the temple has dragon-inspired columns and pagoda rooftops, and an extravagant prayer hall with three altars.
You can often see both devotees and visitors burning joss sticks, kneeling in prayer and placing offerings at the feet of the statues. During Chinese festivals such as Wesak Day and Mooncake festival, thousands of devotees frequent the temple.
Spirital placing, very crowded on middle of the month days. Interesting temple to the visitor. The temple is Chinese culture in Malaysia
Beautiful place. Marriage registration office is on the ground floor, right before going on the stairs. Check out the top floor for the beautiful Buddha.
A quaint buddhist temple tucked above a small hillock. Beautiful in it's own way. A great place to just meditate and be with yourself. I went around afternoon and the place was not crowded and hence enjoyed the peace and tranquility. There is a good view of KL from the temple
Pretty place that is serene. A lot of devotees come here to pay respect to Tian Hou, goddess of the sea, for good luck. Can feel the heritage and culture as you step in the place. Should visit when you are in Kl if you could afford the time.
We visited the temple on our last leg of our overseas trip and is well worth the tour. The place and is open to the public and is free for visit and tour so no need to spend a penny yet you get to see some amazing architecture and the scenery from the above is amazing.
Very beautiful decorated people. The blend of colours here was amazing. Just could keeping looking at the structure and elegance of the structure all time. Quite mesmerizing
