The Japan Club Of Kuala Lumpur reviews
12 This is my honest review of JCKL from a Malaysian perspective after being a member for almost five or more years.
Very good environment, library is a very comfortable place to get work done. There are plenty of outlets for everyone to charge their devices. Front desk staffs are super nice and friendly, they immediately try to solve any problems faced by the members. A few shops that sells Japanese products with okay pricing. Restaurant and cafes here are good.
Bad thing is, JCKL is very double standard when it comes to Japanese and non Japanese members in my opinion.
Example: Japanese member complains about library being noisy, executive secretary immediately takes action and writes a notice to be pasted in the library the following few days.
Malaysian member complains about guards constantly stopping them from entering JCKL despite having the car sticker clearly visible on the windshield, front desk and manager only took action after the Malaysian member complained after ten times. The guards was very obviously looking at the face of the driver first, not the car member sticker. The guards, from what I see, are much more friendlier towards the Japanese members meanwhile they give the non Japanese members a black face and never greet or bother to look at us pretending we're not there. Honestly this group of guards and the manager are the worst group, the previous guards were much more nicer and had never of these problems stated.
If you're a Japanese, yeah definitely recommended to join this club. If you're not a Japanese, can join lah but got risk of double standard.
The funny things is, from what I heard, there are more Malaysian members than Japanese members. You don't see us often is because we only come once a week. So I'm not sure why are they treating us so badly.
A very old place with paranormal activity.
Good environment,
haven't try the Japanese food but will try in future.
Everything was ok until the sun set.my advise: try not to go level 2 alone at night & do not use upstairs toilet at night.
Great food, great price, great ambience. Non members aren't allowed to park in the compound
Received a recommendation to dine here. The boss and Chef are Japanese. Remember to collect the pass at the guardhouse and tap at the door entrance.
Himawari restaurant is a place for Japan club Malaysia members to dine. As an individual who lived in Nogaya Japan for 2 months as an exchange student, personally I can feel the overall ambience of a cozy japanese restaurant. Price wise is still affordable with good food quality and service. However I feel the food is little bit bland (maybe Malaysians have a heavy tastebud).
Japan club restaurant “Himawari” has very nice roof top BBQ dinner (Booking in advance is required). Good quality Japanese food at reasonable price. Our group enjoyed a lot! Please try everyone!
Club house for Japan lovers. You can use their facilities if you are a member. You can find library, Japanese restaurants, Japanese marts, meeting rooms, and even rooftop open space area. They organized Japanese culture learning classes from time to time. Parking is free.
Only members or membets' guest allowed to enter venue. For members, souvenier shop, Tsukiji Mart are useful for the shopping.
JCKL, a place where if you're Japanese, you're allowed to talk normally in the library with no problem. If you're non Japanese but a Malaysian, you'll be judged for making a sound or not following the same rule as they are following. Not recommended for Malaysians who want to hang out there to be honest. I always get eyes looking at me when I was working on my laptop. Honestly JCKL is pretty bias.

This club is well take care. Only member can use the facilities and have meals here. Western, Japanese restaurant is well known here. Japanese mart also available.really hope I can be the member.
Working in here. Parking is free. The restaurant is quite good. They got their daily limited menu as well. If you come aeound morning or noon, please try the coffee house as well.
There is no Comfortable Nursing Room even though they are held baby play groups byweekly. So Each mothers change baby diapers and breastfeeding at the classroom (be held activities). There is nicer than bathroom which is really sad. I hope they improve this issues promptly.
