National Museum of Malaysia

Although the National Museum of Malaysia is smaller than many national museums, it is packed with fascinating exhibits and artifacts that tell the story of the country's rich history and culture. I had fun picking out pretty old stamps sold by installments at the entrance to the Currency Museum in Anga-gu, the main building, and then went to Perdana Park in the back to walk and relax:) I bought about 40 pieces for 6 ringgit! Haha, if you are interested in stamps, please enjoy it here for a while!

My last visit here was almost 20 years ago.
Its an interactive museum of Malaysian culture & history from prehistoric era displaying precious artifacts, antique and cultural items
There are 4 historical gallery and this place opens daily from 9am -5pm.personally felt that it's very much lesser display collections compare to previous days as well comparing to other National museum of the neighbouring countries

I recomend to visit this museum the first day you are in Malaysia, it will help a lot in understanding the country and the different origins of its population.

Four rooms, across two floors, and a spacious garden, filled with the history of Malaysia.
From prehistoric, paleolithic to colonial and modern.

Entry at 5 MR for tourists, 2 RM for locals and free for children.
Can get very busy on weekends.

I strongly reco to have a guide tour with your own language. I tried Korean session and i loved it! Definitely worth trying.without it, it might be a bit boring.

For foreigners, regardless of whether they have a visa or not, the fee is 5 ringgit for adults. The exhibition volume is moderate, and the exhibits are displayed in chronological order from prehistory to modern times.

A museum that tells us the ancient history of Malaysia and their lives at the time of colonialism and how their resistance was beautiful to get to know the life of the Malaysians and how Islam entered it

Lack of artifacts / contents. Not much interesting, can be improved with more history not only from ancient, but cultures of each state. Very surface. Temporary museum at the back almost didn't have visitor. Hidden.

And the most frustrating was, toilet were not maintain well. No water! Smelly!

Very goods place for family day's trip. This place normally busy with school's tour. This is national heritage side, so if you are not into history, this is not a place for you.

A good place to bring yourself and kids to know about the historical events, the beginning of Malay Sultan era, the invasion from the west and Japan, the strike from the communists and the formation and independence of Malaya and then Malaysia.

First time visit here. Many knowledge can get from here and we like enter the time tunnel that bring us back to review what we had learnt in Sejarah. The museum is well manage and maintain, worth to pay a visit.

Went during the weekend, not a lot of visitors. RM 2 for Malaysians and RM 5 for non Malaysians. Many exhibitions about Malaysia's history. Wish some of the exhibits are better maintained and presented.

When you come to museum Negara, you can learn historical of Malaysia. The building there unique and great. You can also see many tradition have in Malaysia.

National museum of Malaysia is a must visit place for those who are interested to know about the culture, tradition, history of that country. Children’s can see many artifacts from this museum and understand. This is a huge place to cover. An amazing experience.

I had been there before the pandemic began and It was so amazing. Anyone who loves museums, I recommend here.
There are many traditional stuff and interesting story, the entrance fee is also affordable for foreigners.

Muzium Negara Sepintas Lalu

Muzium Negara merupakan peneraju aktiviti permuziuman di Malaysia dan pendukung terhadap pemuliharaan dan pengekalan warisan koleksi khazanah negara. Pembinaannya yang mewakili identiti nasional merupakan kemuncak kepada sejarah pembinaan muzium-muzium terawal di negara ini seperti di Muzium Taiping, Perak (1883), Muzium Sarawak (1888) dan Muzium Selangor (1889). Didirikan di atas tapak Muzium Selangor yang musnah pada Mac 1945 akibat Perang Dunia ke 2, idea pembinaannya telah dirancang pada 1957 selepas kemerdekaan negara ini dan diumumkan pembinaannya pada 1959. Melalui inspirasi yang berlatarbelakang identiti negara, rekabentuk yang dipersetujui oleh Perdana Menteri Malaysia yang pertama telah membolehkan pembinaannya menjadi realiti pada 1961. Akhirnya bangunan Muzium Negara berdiri megah dan dirasmikan oleh Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong Malaysia ke-III pada 31 Ogos 1963, iaitu enam tahun selepas kemerdekaan negara ini.

Beautiful national museum with perfect explication of the story of Malaysia across objects, photos, decoration, nice and original presentation, animation, music.great to visit and see the evolution of the story of the country. Need a long time to visit if you read and is interesting in all the presentation of objects and others. The presentation outside is very beautiful and send you in the atmosphere of story of Malaysia. A museum to visit absolutly to understand and know more on Malaysia. Complete museum. Cheap ticket.

It was such a huge place. I was astonished to see how the heritage has been maintained and well preserved. Every country should really think of having such a best in class national musuem where we get to learn a lot.

Not only learn but some free goodies to people who visit. I visited during the christmas time and there were lot of DIY small packs which we could take, i took two of it and celebrated my christmas since i was completely on travel.
