The place are jot very crowded, very chill. The old man was very nice. He introduced a lot about this mosque and let us take photos everywhere. This place is very nice, no ticket, and staff was super nice to me as well. I recommend to visit this mosque because it's near so many food places and also easy to commute to other locations in KL

I saw a blue light reflecting off a building, so I walked over to take a look. It was a very beautiful coincidence. I don't know what time the lights will be turned on. But it was evening.

A beautiful building and free to visit, but the hours are limited and it's not worth going out of your way for.

At some point a guy gathered a group of us in the main prayer hall and started proselytizing to us. Had a difficult to read poster board, a laser pointer, etc. Was funny but annoying. Don't feel obligated to stick around if this happens.

Serene and welcoming environment. It’s open for prayers on weekdays and visits on weekends. The night has the blue light displays from the River of life.

The compound is friendly for all visitors, some exhausted worshippers take naps there.

You can see Muslims praying piously, and tourists don’t have to worry about their clothes. If there are some irregularities, there will be staff at the entrance to lend you the corresponding clothes (free of charge). The overall feeling is very comfortable. After entering, you will feel the whole When you calm down, someone will introduce Islam. Whether you are a Muslim or not, you can come here to settle your mood.

Nice mosque. Heart of KL. The wind blows softly. Mosque commitee is good. Try to learn people needs. Please give some contribution if you were there because i believe the maintenance cost is very high bcoz it is middle of city

(mαѕjíd) Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad Mosque was originally built by Muslim traders from India on 1909 at the junction of the Klang River and the Gombak River ,  Kuala Lumpur during the British occupation

Very well maintained

Designed by AB Hubback and completed in 1909. It became the principal mosque in Kuala Lumpur until the opening of the National Mosque in 1965.

Jamek Mosque, officially Sultan Abdul Samad Jamek Mosque  (Malay:  Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad) is one of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur,  Malaysia.  It is located at the confluence of the Klang and Gombak River and may be accessed via Jalan Tun Perak. The mosque was designed by Arthur Benison Hubback, and built in 1909.
The mosque was built on the location of an old Malay burial place at the confluence of Klang and Gombak River and named Jamek Mosque.  A couple of mosques previously existed in the Java Street and Malay Street area serving the Malay communities, but Jamek Mosque was the first large mosque to be built in Kuala Lumpur. The foundation stone of the mosque was laid by the Sultan of Selangor,  Sultan Sir Alaeddin Sulaiman Shah on 23 March 1908, and the Sultan officially opened the mosque on 23 December 1909. The construction of the mosque cost $32,625, funded in part by the Malay community with contribution from the British colonial government.  The architect was Arthur Benison Hubback who designed the mosque in the Indo-Saracenic style, loosely reflecting Indian Muslim Mughal architectural style. Masjid Jamek served as Kuala Lumpur's main mosque until the national mosque,  Masjid Negara, was built in 1965.
The mosque has since been enlarged with extensions built, and the originally open-air forecourt roofed over. One of the domes of the mosque collapsed in 1993 due to heavy rain, but has since been repaired.
On 23 June 2017, the mosque was renamed Sultan Abdul Samad Jamek Mosque by Selangor's Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah after his ancestor — the fourth Sultan of Selangor Sultan Abdul Samad — as the mosque was originally built on land that was part of the state of Selangor.

Tempat yang luas dan kondusif, tapi disebabkan covid, dia limitkan kemasukan. Overall ok sangat2 sbb masih boleh solat di sana.

I loved sitting in silence in this beautiful place and also got a chance to wear burqa. This is place has one of the finest architecture. This is one of the oldest mosque in KL. It's located quiet near to river which adds to it beauty and uniqueness.

The mosque used to have bunch of shady and beautiful coconut trees as it was back in the colonial time, but all of them were cut down and replaced by imported date trees. After the expensive refurbishment, it doesn't have the same feeling as it was before. Very disappointed!

My school is very near this mosque which makes it very convinient for Friday Prayer. But being a historic building, makes it very lacking in modern features.

Masjidnya asri, tanpa cover.
