Bought a brand new Suzuki SV650 and within five months, the motorcycle suffered not one BUT two air pressure sensor failures.

What's more infuriating is that it began with one failure and I had to wait one month for the replacement unit for the first sensor, circa end of February 2023. After installation and testing, the problem still persisted and Suzuki had to order the second part, extending the wait time by another month.

By this point, it's been two months since I could properly use my motorcycle and have been considering legal action under the 'Loss of Use' or a similar approach.

At the end of April/start of May 2023, the problem is still there and I am now approaching the third month of not having normal use of my motorcycle.

-

UPDATE - 5 May 2023. The second replacement part arrived and I brought my motorcycle in at 8: 30AM on May 5 2023 to have the part replaced. Waited the entire day for an update and NOT A SINGLE UPDATE came throughout the entire working day.

Sent a Whatsapp message to one of the service advisors at approximately 3: 15PM to request for an update and no response came back.

Called Suzuki at approximately 4: 30PM and their automated message said their office is closed. What's frustrating is that the automated message CLEARLY stated that business hours are from 8: 20AM to 6: 00PM, Monday to Friday. So why was the office closed?

Finally, called the service advisor at approximately 4: 45PM and no answer came.

-

To summarize so far, I really thought that Suzuki motorcycles were high quality but with two mechanical failures not even half a year from ownership on a brand new unit, it's tough to accept the whole 'Made in Japan' branding as a mark of quality and assurance.

UPDATE: 8 May 2023

After rectifying and replacing the air sensors and testing, the fault code was cleared and bike was operating like normal - so far, so good.

This update reflects my experience in the follow-up procedure and the ratings have been adjusted to reflect said changes.

The staff were very apologetic about the missed calls and miscommunications and have reached out to clarify and take ownership of the mishaps. As such, I commend the accountability and responsibility of the personnel involved. Mistakes happen, that's just part of life but owning up to it and apologizing is a mark of a matured approach and one I truly appreciate.

In this regard, it's safe to say the people behind the brand are trying actively to improve and provide better services so that's good. The overall rating in this review reflects BOTH the aftersales and product rating of which the former has improved tremendously since but the latter still sticks, though through no fault of the people at Suzuki Malaysia.

**This is not a paid review**

The service center provides a good & tip top service. Make sure you make an appointment before you come so that the staff is ready to welcome you and your bike. Along the service lane, you'll see bikes parking there. It's self poison session if you thought of upgrading your bike.

Walk around in their showroom at the front, you'll see wide selection of bikes displayed. Surprisingly, you'll find Bottechia (Italian bicycle) here on display. Ask the staff for a good deal!

Baru beli keluar kedai bunyi bertukang, hantar suruh buat kita pulak diminta bayar, baik tak payah ada warranty, katanya normal lah apalah, macam lah baru first time beli motor. Nanti jangan lupa delete comment/review. Suruh check problem pun malas. Normal normal normal katanya. RAN 7040. Ingat bayar pakai air liur ke.

This is Suzuki Malaysia HQ, Office, Showroom display and Services and Assembly all in one. Parking is difficult to find cos the building is in an industrial area. If you plan to buy, it is better to go their dealer.
