Arrived at the front of the hospital with a suspected broken ankle. Immediately supplied with a wheelchair and taken to emergency. Almost directly seen by a doctor and then an orthopaedic surgeon. Admitted and operated on the following morning. My surgeon DR Anam Kour was brillant, professional, supportive and very easy to to relate to.
All hospital staff were professional and friendly.
The food was good, waiting times were short and we even received water and crackers when waiting the short time for my follow up appointment.
My treatment and support was brilliant. My thanks to everyone.
Compared to Australia I was very impressed.

Came here for health examination for visa. The staff is really polite and friendly, even remembered my name when I was in the lift. There was a bit of waiting time, came according to appointment time at 930am but only got everything done at noon. Dr Then is approachable and passionate. Parking as usual, is a problem in every healthcare facility. Overall a good experience!

Service is too slow compared to government hospital/clinic. We pay more due to time and urgency.

Usually my experience with them is beyond excellent but this morning when i'm asking for an appointment, the staffs are being rude and as emotionally unstable i am due to my health condition, it make me so sad that i think i will not be going there anymore after this. Btw, this staff is from the Oby-Gyn dept.

LOUSIEST SERVICE EVER. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE. Call for appointment and told the staff I would like to have a Quantiferon test done. The staff told me to come at 930am. Wait for more than 2 hours until my name being called (after I urged them on the waiting time, which those who came at a later time already get to see the doctor) and told that the Quantiferon test can only be done in afternoon 3pm. I already told the purpose of visit during the call while making appointment and during my registration at the counter. I have no idea what’s the staffs/ nurses here doing.

Services are not that good especially the doctor that was assigned to my father. When my brother asked for more details on my father illness, he just kind of ignore. Very difficult to meet up with the doctor. Nurse and doctor seems like avoiding questions from customer. This is a private hospital. I would understand if it is a government hospital with such lousy service. We will never come to this hospital again. This hospital is simply overrated and overprice. Your service seriously need some improvement. We can tolerate on the poor facilities but not poor treatment and services.

Amazing service and professionalism by all doctors and staffs that we have encountered with. Dr Auyong was very detailed, patient and friendly through the consulting process. From the very moment we step foot into the hospital, everyone has been very hospitable and efficient. Could tell the staffs were happy and jovial at work so it made the hospital environment comfortable and a great experience overall despite the nervous waits in between tests.

Highly recommended if you’re in Kuching!

I called beforehand to book a slot with Dr. A from gynae and obs department however was disappointed with the waiting experience. I only managed to wait from 9am to 12pm since I have other commitment in the evening. Very bad experience of waiting, I dont understand what is the reason but it is frustrating to see other patients come and go while I am still there, waiting.

No one on this earth can give me back those unpromising 3 hours I spent there, so I left. I dont know the sole reason of the late service but please respect people's time as much you want people to respect yours.

Anyway I ended up going to Dr. Patricia Ling at Timberland which only take me below 1 hour of everything to settle. Very recommended experienced doctor, friendly staff and nice environment.

Waiting time too long on the first floor! 2nd floor service is better than first. We don’t know the process so you guys as professionals please explain at least and not to only ask patients to wait especially kids! Spending so much money just deserve “not too long just wait lah ”.
For those who want to come this hospital, better have some RELATIONSHIPS with the people here, as you can cut the queue STRAIGHT!

I visited the hospital while I was on holiday in Kuching. My appointment was arranged efficiently via WhatsApp and my needs were accommodated very well considering I was only in Kuching for a short time. I was not at my best, I was anxious and in some pain from an ongoing medical issue, but every member of staff (admin staff, nurses and doctors) was extremely kind, patient and helpful with me. I was guided everywhere I needed to go and everything was clearly explained to me. The doctors listened to me, answered my questions and addressed my concerns, and I was given a report from my visit to give to my doctor at home. The staff clearly care a lot about their patients and want to look after them as well as possible. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hospital to anyone who needs medical care. Thank you, Normah staff!

Called at 930, assisted by Y to make an appoinment with any ortho doctor before 12 noon. ANY DOCTOR. Finalized the apt at 1030 - i was scheduled with dr A and reached there at 1030. Came to the counter to register and was given Q number for walkin patient eventho explained to them that i've made an apt to come at 1030. Wait wait wait until cannot tahan anymore then i went to counter at 12 asking when can i meet the doc. When check check, they actually missed out my name due to internal miscom, and gv other reason the doc had lots of patients, other patients more severe situation, dressing blablabla.wahh, then our penyakit is cincai cincai one lah? 1205 i was called to meet the doc, consultation 3 mins then go to xray. Sumpah, u guys need to sort out the apt booking thing. If u want to wait for 4 hrs baru setel ur penyakit then i recommend this place.

Normah Medical Center has been my family’s choice to get the best treatment with competent doctors, kind and polite nurses and staff and with the best facilities, ALL under one roof. That was until the last few years. The services has deteriorated significantly together with the facilities and building. My mother and most of my family still goes there regularly for their checkups, more so out of habit, familiarity and convenience although there has been a plenty of complaints every time after each visit on how long the wait are (waiting time 2 to 3 hours to see a doctor even with an appointment, and that’s not yet including the waiting time at the pharmacy), how “rushed” and “un thorough” their attending doctors are and a whole lot more of other complaints. Some families and friends have even moved on to other private hospitals due to these.

I have also recently been back for treatment to Normah and I totally understand what they (and many more in this review) have been complaining about. Whilst there are still a number of really committed, competent and patient-focused doctors who are still there, there are also some doctors who are the opposite. Walking towards the once beautiful building, I saw instead, a really worn down moss covered unkept building, a non-working elevator at the specialist clinics (it took a few weeks before they fixed one and another is still not in operation after months), some leaky ceiling with black water stains and a really dejected atmosphere.

I went to Normah, thinking that I could do most if not all under one roof. I was wrong. I was sent to different hospitals in the city to get some scans and tests done, because Normah has either not upgraded their machines or their machines are (and has been for some time) broken. I was also “assigned” to a resident specialist doctor, and after a few visits (including an emergency one), I wanted to go back to a previous attending doctor (whom I trust and had just came back from leave). I REQUESTED for an appointment with this doctor but noticed that the nurses seems rather reluctant, although they remain professional, polite and assured me that they will talk to the doctors first. I know my rights as a patient to choose the doctor I felt most comfortable and more competent to treat my case (s). I have my reasons but even if I do not have one, I still have that right to choose my doctor. I am sharing my story and giving this feedback for the benefit of the others who might not know their rights or who do not dare to exercise their rights.

I later found out why the reluctance to register as the nurses were given some “unwritten” instructions from the management. The management were also questioning/investigating the (unknowing) doctor and auditing the kind overworked nurses on “stealing” patients which was not the case here. I was really surprised at what I had caused in the background just from requesting to see a different doctor as I strongly think that this was NOT the appropriate and right reaction from the management. Instead, in my humble opinion, the management should have spent time investigating why I (or any other patients) wanted to switch doctors and interviewed me and also to spend time looking into the improvements they can do in order to provide better healthcare services and facilities to their patients.

My dear (once and still?) beloved Normah Hospital, what has happened? Has the management changed so much? I (and my family and friends) really would like to continue to patronize you as you do have a lot of wonderful competent doctors and really kind polite nurses and staff but please, please improve your processes and upgrade your facilities so you can sincerely claim to be the top quality healthcare provider in Sarawak that you once used to be and deserving of your prestigious award (in real, not just on papers).

Bad experience.service very slow bcs management is too stingy to hire more staff.have a high fever in the middle of the night but need to wait for 2 hrs to meet doctor.once done, need to wait another 20 minutes for medicine. The vibe is the same as a general hospital due to the long waiting time, but this hospital needs to pay.better go to the general hospital
