We were very pleased with the service we received from Penang CityTaxi & Transport. We made an inquiry 2 hours in advance to go from the cruise ship port to the Batu Ferringhi Night Market - a 40 minute drive each way. Our request was answered within minutes via WhatsApp. Price was very reasonable and car was clean and comfortable (We were a group of 5). This is a trustworthy business - great communication, excellent customer service and careful drivers.

Muhammad samir was a very good and knowledgeable guide who made our stay in penang easy and comfortable. Well mannered abs very accommodating to our needs, would like to highly recommend him to anybody. We enjoyed out time with him.

It was great. We booked two months ago and we forgot to follow up and we called him the day we got to Malaysia and on the spot he arranged all the transportation. The driver assigned to us was Mr. Dineas. He was very kind, very flexible and very honest. He was always on time and I’d say a very optimistic person. On the way, he explained all the surrounding areas and was with us the whole time. We do not have anymore words to express the gratitude he showed to us. I’d recommend this travel agency and it was very reliable.

During my Penang stay this august, I rode the taxi from the airport to my accomodation on the north coast and - on another day - from there to the bus station in Georgetown with Madame Sue as my driver. She is very nice and absolutely reliable, even I arrived very late in the evening and my flight was even later than expected she waited for me at the airport. When coming back, I had to leave very early in the morning from a rural area, and she picked me up reliably and on time. Unlike other taxi companies, Madame Sue drives carefully, not overspeeding the vehicle, which I value very much to arrive safely. Should I come back to Penang would ride with you for certain again.

Shamir was a fantastic driver who fullfilled every request. He was also very knowledgeable about the various locations that we visited around the island. A great experience for a very good rate $.

Shamir was the best driver ever. He gave us so many tips on our holiday in Penang. He knows the area so well. His taxi was very modern and clean, he speaks perfect English. He was always on time and communicated well. I can definitely recommend him to anyone travelling to Penang.

We visited from Australia and were SO lucky to have Shamir as our driver. We hired him for 3 and 4 hours to visit local sites and he happily shared his wealth of knowledge of Penang. We would never have been to many attractions without his suggestions. He is at all times VERY respectful, trustworthy, well spoken and such a lovely person.

We had a fantastic experience with Penang City Taxi & Transport during our 4 days in Penang. Our driver was Dave (pictured with my family) and he was prompt, polite, funny and offered very reasonably priced taxi journeys all over the island. During our drives to the National Park or the Escape water park Dave told us about local history, politics, nature and we learned a lot from this nice man.

On one occasion he was busy so a colleague substituted in for him - Denis was also on time, friendly and helpful. Their cars are clean and spacious. I recommend this service very highly!

Great taxi service. Reliable, quick in responding, gentle driver and great value for money. Did a private transfer from Georgetown to Kuala Kedah with absolutely no problems. Would definitely book again!

Booked a ride to the airport two days in advance as it was for 04: 15 am, rang on his handphone number and the chap was helpful, even got back to me by WhatsApp to confirm booking. But he didn't show up, and unable to contact him on his handphone. Fortunately, I managed to get an AirAsia cab instead.

Addendum - He did subsequently apologise and said his driver went to a different block, offered a free future ride. It is possible his driver did not have my local handphone number (which is different from my WhatsApp number). Perhaps a more formal booking/confirmation response with passenger contact numbers for the actual driver and vice versa may prevent similar problems in future.

Will update if/when I try Penang City Taxi again. But if it isn't required for 04: 30 am to get to the airport, I usually use an e-hailing taxi service (in Penang, AirAsia seems to be taking over from Grab in terms of availability, and Uber is no more). Booking is more transparent, is usually cheaper, and you can see the driver details and location live. You need to have a mobile phone with the app and mobile data though.
