Pasar Chowrasta reviews
67Went to the seconhand bookshops on the 2nd floor. So many choices of books, somehow I think the price is expensive for a used book
My friend fr KL purposely holiday in Penang to buy pickled mango, papaya, shallots, etc. I tried a piece and its really nice and crisp, not sour and soft. My cousin found a shop selling duster with long handle to clean her ceiling fans. I myself bought 5 bamboo cloth for only RM 10 which is multi purpose. All these were done after we each had various delicious noodles at the nearby food court
It can be considered the main street with both sides full of characteristic shops, where you can taste flavors while they cook and see clothes in bright colors. Very nice.
Multi storey parking available in the building but the lane into entrance is very small to find and only from Penang Road.
Only payable by card (Touch n Go, credit card, may be).
Each parking space is not big.
An old type of market. Good ambient, good street food selections as well as Penang famous products like asam jeruk.
It's a place where everything you need from grocery, titbits & wet market is available under one roof
Buy the one on the inside. Bargaining. The ones outside are expensive. Kudu keukeuh wrote with our price. It's a shame because I buy here, I often get sick because there are some that are cheaper. Hahaha
Exciting and vibrant colors. Do not miss the pickles.one of the few places where you can enjoy the freshly fried chestnuts. The wall painting is priceless.
Like a typical wet market with a variety of food stuff and also clothes and apparels like those selling in the night market throughout Malaysia, but this market is clean and well maintained.
Fairly compact we market. Penang being the food capital of Malaysia, I was expecting much larger scale but since it's not huge, for a tourist to stroll around, it could be just the right size.
Variety of food and shops. Local market with many stalls selling household items, clothing, shoes and groceries
This place is so nostalgic. I was born in Singapore where there was still kampung and market like this.
This market (pasar means market in Malay) not only serves glutinous rice, kuehs, buns, soya milk, popiah skin and peanut sweet, they also still slaughter live chickens in the market itself.
For those who have never seen it, it is definitely worth a visit. Do try the kuehs and soya milk along the way.
Best place to get fresh tau sar piah. The Chinese uncle on the right side packs them fresh on the spot for you
If you love meet local with their morning activity such break fast, shopping fresh grocery, you in the right place
Morning market below and they have car park. Upstairs they have local books/mag store selling new or reused, shoe & dress outlets and also a cafeteria (cendol no need queue). Ground floor is the little stores selling natives product, food stalls surrounding. In centre of Georgetown known as Penang Road.
Good place to explore if you like historical place. A lot of hawker food. But if you muslim, be careful because some food isn't halal.
With the upgrade of Pasar Chowrasta.one could park their vehicles at the multi levels carpark free from summons being issued by the enforcement officers or being towed.
Being the one of the oldest market.one could purchase from fish or vegetables.poultry.even sit to enjoy local street food.walk to the 2nd floor.second hand books stalls.
It would be enjoyable moments to photograph to capture local scenery at the market esp.in the morning.
It's an old bazaar area in town. Just behind it there is local vegetables and fruits market. It's a great experience to visit during the morning time.
