It takes about 1.5 hours to walk around the reservoir, and most of the roads are under the shade of trees.

Drive up Kele Temple for about 5-8 minutes. The reservoir is located at a high point, and the reception is poor. You need to go to the open area of ​​Zhishengpo to receive the reception.

You can hear the quacking of white-bellied sea eagles, and birds of prey such as chestnut kites standing on dead branches.

When the water level is full, you can see the wonders of the spillway.

A must visit place if you have a strong car. Otherwise don’t go there its very high. Place is very beautiful, very good for photography and short picnic.
Tempat yang mesti dikunjungi jika anda mempunyai kereta yang kuat. Jika tidak, jangan pergi ke sana sangat tinggi. Tempatnya sangat cantik, sangat bagus untuk fotografi dan berkelah pendek.

A place where you can take your whole family for a relaxing walk and beautiful scenery.
For joggers, there's plenty of space and around 4km of trail to use, and tall tress for shades so don't worry about the sunlight.
For hikers there is few route where you can hike to somewhere else including to Penang hill.
For nature lovers, like me, there's alot of animals to expect, reptiles, birds, mammals and especially butterflies, a lot of different kind of butterflies.

This place is a literal heaven in disguise. Fresh morning air, full of greeneries, magnificent elevated views and a walking track suitable for any age/fitness level, you have to at least experience this gem once in your life.

A Penangite but 1st time here after so many years, oops. A very nice place for walking, exercising and jogging. Nice scenery and definitely will be back again for a full round of walk (2.8km) around the dam. There's a parking place near to the dam but it is quite small and might be full, can park somewhere on the way to the dam around 5 to 8 min walk near to the big billboard.

Here again 2 weeks later to walk around the dam, spent around 30min for the entire walk. Carpark is already full at 7am! Nice place for a relaxing walk.

I reaaaally love the Air Itam Dam. I thought Teluk Bahang Dam was supposed to be better, but personally I prefer Air Itam. It's a relatively flat 2.8km walk around the dam and you get to just soak in nature and have a relaxed stroll surrounded by trees. The pavement is wide and both times I went, there weren't many people (might have just been lucky timing).

A well sustained nature trail. Experience the beautiful sight and breathe in the fresh air. Choose to hike up or drive up. There are about 50 parking spaces at the dam. While at the dam, you can make a round hike the dam.

Very clean well-kept area with recreational grounds for all ages. Magnificent view especially during sunset. Very narrow roads if you are coming by car.

Very beautiful place for chillax, running and slow walk. The whole route (one round) is probably around 4km. Make sure you take a lot of selfie which is Instagrammable.

Parking is always a problem. An alternative is that you park somewhere before the place and walk up.

Clean. Safe. Lots of people jogging/walking. Path is tarred. Shaded. Wear good footwear. Hike is slightly hilly. Steep drive up, parking tight. Toilet available. Nice to visit. Good views. Allow 1.5hrs. Enjoy.

This place could be ignored as it located near to the famous Bukit Bendera. But I believe it was well known among local.

The place that come from, the dam is just a dam nothing more than that.

But this place is amazing, they utilize a dam for a recreation place with a proper parking space, toilet, kid playground, running/walking trail, stunning view and its free of charge.

You need to drive your own vehicle in order to get here.

Jalan nak pergi ke sini agak mencabar kerana perlu melalui jalan bukit yang agak tinggi.berdekatan dengan kuil Kek Lok Si, jalan agak sempit dan mempunyai beberapa selekoh yang berbahaya.untuk orang yang suka hiking, jogging dan berbasikal tempat ini cukup mencabar untuk anda yang sukakan cabaran.sepanjang jalan ada pokok tumbuhan yang tumbuh liar yang cantik.bagi yang menaiki kereta pasti terlepas untuk melihat flora yang tumbuh di sepanjang jalan menuju ke empangan ini dan ada satu tempat di mana dapat kita dapat melihat pemandangan dari bukit ke kuil, kawasan perumahan dan laut.tempat dijaga dengan elok dan cantik.dan ada satu jalan kecil yang boleh tembus sehingga ke Balik Pulau.perlu menaiki motor atau basikal sahaja.dari jauh, boleh nampak air terjun juga di sini.

I go there from time to time regardless if it's in the morning or noon. Each and every time brings me closer and closer to nature. I enjoy the view of sunlight bleeds through the forest when I'm doing my evening run. Also i enjoy the sunrise view early in the morning. The journey to get to there is also brings up the mood as you're meet with these beautiful temples.

Local coffee shop with lovely char koay teow. Nothing fancy but you get to experience Penang kopi tiam contemporary

Fewer parking places for car.
The path around the lake has 2.8 km long. (About 30 minutes walking)
The path is really challenging for running. (4~5 slopes)
There is a small path inside the path with a board labelled 五显大帝，it took about 40~50 minutes walking up, but the view up there is really unforgettable

Nice place to walk, jog run or hang out. The cool breeze in the morning and the sunrise view is simply superb. Highly recommended for those who active workout enthusiast

Good of time hanging around the big dam top of kek lok si temple. It's great with family, kids walk in blue green natural landscape

Good sightseeing especially in the morning. Just drive all the way to the top while going kek lok si temple. Local used to exercise and do jogging. No harm going abit further.
