UMI (Japanese Restaurant)

I didn't have high expectations at first, but the food was surprisingly good. Unfortunately, there were still a few flies in the room.

We have good dinner at Umi Japanese Restaurant. The foods were up to standard. Love their staff services, all service crew was so pleasant and serving with good smile. Make the whole ambience warm and sweet. The guy service captain was so considered by giving us a complementary carrot cake as a gesture for our anniversary celebrations, such a good memory for us. Thanks so much, we definitely will come back to support this Japanese Restaurant. We'll done all.

Food is tasty. Family of 5, including two seniors and a teenager. Presentation was beautiful and professional. As there were houseflies so restaurant lighted the lemongrass which not appreciated by the children in the next table.

The food here is excellent and despite being in a resort, they didn't really short-change guests on food quality. The ambience of the restaurant is also elegant and the service is competent although nothing to shout about.

Some negative reviews here are due to the price and I would say it's not cheap by any means but no more than typical resort price. While the quality is above typical casual Japanese chain restaurants, the prices are also correspondingly higher.

The concerns with the flies are indeed valid and a problem throughout the resort but Umi is actually affected less (as compared to Roselle which has an open air section). The restaurant tried to mitigate using lemongrass candles but this gives off a scent that may interfere with the food.

I order tori curry udon @ chawamushi and it was tasteless
curry udon chicken unflavoured, as well as the curry.chawamushi also having a weird taste and too watery.

First time visit, nice place and foods is good. Teriyaki Chicken and Beef set is nice too. Chef did a good job on food setting and provide complimentary mango platter. Highly recommended

Tempura is good. Love️ their Wasabi too. However, the soup base for both Udon and Ramen is really too salty.the more u eat, the saltier? It gets.can't bring myself to drink the soup at all. The free flow tea both hot and cold is tasteless. More efforts needed. Gambate#msgreedysis #greedybuddiez

Very bad quality ingredient used for the price. This is way too absurd. Choices were too little. The most basic udon/ramen were not even prepared. A big big flaw to operate in such a nice hotel.

The menu manager deserved to be fired. Even the ingredients purchasing manager should be evaluated.

Firstly, the restaurant environment below expectation, flies flying around.

Second, the server here ignore me when I raising my hand and he walk away (if the restaurant manager read this review, he is a tall indian guy with short hair), but thumbs up to the chef who saw me and help me to call another server.

Talking about the food, we order a spicy seafood ramen and a niku soba, each cost RM45 but the food is so so, seafood ramen with 2 tiny salmon slice and a small prawn, and niku soba with few slices of beef, and the taste is really disappointed us.

Tasty. Prices are fairly similar to Japanese restaurants in Klang Valley. Limited menu selections due to MCO. Several flies can be seen but the restaurant is taking steps to address it.

The food deserves a 4-stars here. Especially the beef udon noodle soup. Beef just taste so soft, yummy. This restaurant offer only set meal during RMCO period until further notice. No sushi, sashimi, tempura for now. Service is good. But do remember one thing, don't order coke here, it costs you RM 16 per can. Hahaha.

Food are fresh and tasty. Portion are big for me and family. Four adults two children cost me rm250 (cant finish my cali maki tapao continue at room).

Now got promotion should come n eat if the pandemic is x tat bad.

They follow SOP and sanitize always. U can feel safe to be here.

The Umi Japanese Restaurant manger Encik Mohd Azwan and his team are friendly. The food here are fresh especially Sashimi. Others food like tempura, Salmon Fish Head, Unagi, Sushi also made on the spot. The Green Tea ice cream is tasty. It is value for money! Too many varieties!
Must come to try or you will be regrets!

Very good experience here for ala carte food. Staff are friendly, helpful and patient to introduce and recommend food. Nice experience here! Will recommend

If you ever wondered how bad can a RM70/person sushi buffet be - you’re about to find out. We were ready to overlook the flies and the mess in the restaurant for any food because we were starving. But wow - you could be starving and this place can still make you want to throw up. The food was so, so bad - soggy, dirty, tasteless, and stale. That and with flies buzzing all around you —- you’ll wish you were eating cup noodles instead.

Food was tremendously horrible would rather drive 1hr for a mamak store or macdonalds but because i am hungry i ate here and paid 78rm for a service where there is tons of flies around and food is soggy and has no taste. Would really not recommand eating here its worst than mamak.

A lot of bees in the restaurant. So unpleasant! Very disappointing experience.

At Umi Japanese food restaurant: Very loud customers, uncomfortable venue, lousy service.we sat 45 minute without getting our order.then we cancelled and left unhappy.

Very great experience at here.had a wonderful birthday trip as we are surprised unplanned homemade cake and birthday song sung buy the captain, chef and waitress.
